نبذة عن كتاب The Gulf – EU Trade Relationship: Challenges and Opportunities
This paper reveals the trade and financial solutions between the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation’s Council States during the 1980’s and 1990’s. It examines how far the economic relation have depended on oil price development, and explores how far changing policies can affect future relations. Although much of the past and current emphasis has been on trade liberalization, the relationship arguably needs to be seen in a broader context. There are, for examples, very specific education, skills, and training needs in the GCC states in which there is already much European involvement, although not at EU level. There is also considerable financial interdependence between individual European states and companies and Gulf governments, but the formal Agreement between the EU and the GCC seems more symbolic than of real relevance to these immediate issues. To what extent would a more practically formulated structure for cooperation help for hinder the development of relation in such areas of actual or potential mutual interest? That what are these papers seeking for.
