Production engineering or technology is a vital part of our life. If we look at anything we use every moment, we will find out that it has been manufactured conventionally or non – conventionally. Student of engineering and the graduates should be familiar with the principles and fundamentals of this branch of applied science. Manufacturing is divided into two main categories. They are forming and machining. Machining is also divided into : conventional or traditional machining and non – conventionally or non- traditional machining.
This book is design for the first year students (preparatory year) of engineering. It contain the fundamentals of manufacturing of both forming and machining. As already known the start of any manufacturing process is a raw materials of either metals or plastics or any other materials.
